What is Soliris?

Soliris (eculizumab) is a prescription medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as monoclonal antibodies. It is designed to target and block a specific protein in the body called complement C5, which plays a role in abnormal immune system activation. By inhibiting this protein, Soliris helps prevent the destruction of red blood cells and reduces inflammation associated with certain rare and serious conditions. Soliris is administered by intravenous (IV) infusion and is used under close medical supervision.
